And I don't think it was even deliberate the developers wouldn't have known that HH's timeline and interpretation of events, or even the existence of the Hero's Shade at that point, and a couple of the items and item descriptions (especially the bug net) lead me to think they were going for a conglomerate Link. I'm sure the ramifications of Zelda and Soul Caliber happening in the same universe would be numerous and unpleasant, so I'm not saying this should be canon or anything. That makes sense because Link was sent away from Hyrule in the CT he would need to be summoned back. So, Link is in position wherein Zelda knows who he is and that he’s the person to deal with these situations, but he isn’t there immediately and has to be sent for before he comes to help. The people of Hyrule rejoiced in the belief that eternal peace would rule." (There's a bit more than that, but this is the important part.) ![]() Link, who was summoned by Zelda to find the cause of the disasters, successfully defeated the magician. ![]() "Just as the people were about to lose all hope, the sun miraculously returned. Surprisingly, it came to light that a magician was to blame for the disasters. The calamities brought dark, Ominous clouds which shut out the sun. “Once upon a time, hyrule's tranquility was shattered by the arrival of several disasters. Even the random flips he does in MM instead of normal jumps could be seen as a precursor to some of the more acrobatic moves in SC2. His SC2 moveset even reflects a few of the hidden skills, with shield bashes, back slices, and the finishing blow (but not as a finishing move) all being used. It makes sense that Link became an expert swordsman in his life. Secondly, the fact that Link uses so many different swords, and even uses items that aren’t swords as if they were, ties in nicely to the Hero Shade’s dying wish being to pass on his sword skills. I have no particular explanation for those last three, but it makes sense that Link would have gathered a few new items in the past 6ish years since MM. That only leaves the Magic Sword and Shield, which are apparently found in a grave somewhere (as opposed to only the Magical Sword being found there like in the original LoZ), the Cane of Byrna, and maybe the Pegasus Boots (as he does a similar dashing attack). A bug-catching net should be easy enough to acquire, and the Soul Edge is plot-specific to this game. The Armos Sword and Shield are apparently just taken from an armos statue, which Link knows where to find. ![]() He knows where to find the Master Sword, Hylian Shield, Megaton Hammer, Biggoron Sword, and Mirror Shield, along with the boomerang. Link would already have the Great Fairy Sword and could have the Razor Sword (or the Kokiri or Gilded Swords) left over from his adventures in Termina, along with a bow, bombs, and the Ocarina of Time. as a further adventure of the Hero of Time, post MM, after he has grown up naturally.įirstly, the items (you can find a list of 'swords' here, plus he uses the bow, bombs, boomerang, and maybe pegasus boots in his moveset).
